Had to mail in return due to issue with dependents return. IRS still doesn't have update on it
I used Turbo Tax to prepare my taxes but I had to mail in my return this year due to my son's return not having the "I can be claimed as a dependent" flag checked. It was his last year to be claimed and I just missed it. So we amended his return and mailed that in and processed my return and mailed that in. Both were mailed in on 4/1/25. This was when Ohio was besieged by flooding and the returns aren't showing received until 4/14/25 per Certified Mail. It's now been 6 weeks, and my check for my taxes owed has been cashed so I'm fairly sure they have my return but nothing on the irs.gov site indicates that it's been received. I still show "Your return has not been processed" and I know it can take like 16 weeks to process it but is there no other indication that the the IRS does indeed have my return other than the cashed check until it is processed? I abhor mailing them in for this reason but had no other choice and I just want to make sure everything is good. I tried calling the 800-829-1040 line but it was automation only and told me to call back during business hours yet it says they are open 7am to 7pm and I'm in that window. Every other phone number is about tracking your refund and since I paid in, I'm not getting one of those.
