After you file

@fanfare ,

I don't disagree with you on what should or should not be included.  I'm only going by what the 1040X that Turbotax Premier came up with between 5/6 and 5/19 (with current updates both times).  The first date is when I originally put in the information.  The second is when I "printed" to PDF with the worksheets so I could find the values.

Without going into exact values, 1040X, line 6, column A, comes from the filed 1040, line 16.  It is also on the capital gains worksheet, lines 22-25.  It does NOT exist on any other line in my filed "worksheet" included forms.  Please note, line 16 does NOT contain the values from schedule 2 that you mentioned with "Line 6 Col A includes amount from Schedule 2  Line 3 and so does Col C.".  Maybe it is supposed to, but it doesn't.  Schedule 2 goes into line 17 (at least the values match), and that adds to taxes calculated in my case from the capital gains worksheet in 16 to make line 18 in the filed 1040.

1040X, line 6, column C comes from the new 1040, line 18 and 22, on a header page, and line 8(c) on the 1040X.  It does NOT show up in the PDF in any other location.

1040X, line 6, column B comes from column C - Column A.  Since A does NOT include Schedule 2's values, it is $992, with schedule 2 included in C but not A, having the $950 discrepancy that I'm trying to get fixed!  The 1040X is implying that I re-owe the values in Schedule 2, and I should not have to re-pay taxes that I've already paid.

Personally, for me, it doesn't matter if the 1040X comes from line 16, 18 or 24 in the 1040.  In all three cases, the value is $42 different between the two 1040 forms, while the 1040X says I owe $992.  With TurboTax Premier using line 16 for A, and 18 for C, it is causing me a $950 headache.

Thanks for your help,

Terry
