Thanks for the info.
I did start from the turbotax file that was actually filed. It confused me a lot because without any modification (just entered the amendment section), in the 1040-X, the column A generated by turbotax is NOT the same as the one entered in the original return. The column B has some adjustments, and the column C is the amount reported in the original filing. For example, I think, the value in line 1 and column A of 1040-X should match the line 11 in 1040. But they do not.
Once I made some modifications to the tax, the values in column C are changed, but the values in column A are not changed.
It is really strange that I cannot find the values in Column A anywhere in the tax return. How can that happen?
