Interesting. I had asked the turbotax support chat for assistance and they had a turbotax representative call me at my cell number. The turbotax representative gave me a phone number of a bank in California to call to see if my payment amount could be made earlier than April 30, 2025. The gave me the Bank name and phone number. I don't recall the bank name but the phone number was [phone number removed]. The representative stated I could consult the bank if making the payment early was an option. She also stated I could consult the state for options but did not explain that if was on the state to debit my account on April 30, 2025. My concern was that if the payment was not made on time I could be subject to penalty, and also that my return had been accepted but not processed due to the outstanding payment.
Thank you for your clarification but I still recommend some cautionary statement be added to the turbotax recommendation of delaying payment to April 30, 2025.
