Your situation is very similar to mine, would really appreciate if there's any new update.
Also sent my form 8453 on Mar 21 via certified mail, to the address listed on the form (Receipt and control branch in Austin Tx, [removed]).
Finally arrived at a post office in Austin, TX, 78710 on 4/1/2025 3:36am
Then it's showing "Available for Pickup, at the GMF AUSTIN 8225 CROSS PARK DR, AUSTIN TX [removed]) on 4/1/2025 7:24am.
Lastly it showed "Delivered, Left with Individual". BUT this is at Austin, TX 73301, on 4/1/2025 11:56am.
And this is NOT the same zipcode I put on the certified mail...
Any ideas on what's the best approach now to make sure my form 8453 got to the right hands at this point?
Besides being concerned that IRS may not receive the required documents from me, I also worry that my identify may be at risk if the mail got into the wrong hands. Included on the form are info such as SSN, address, bank account number etc.
