After you file
You would amend your state taxes if:
- You've already filed your taxes.
- They were accepted (not Rejected).
- They were completely processed (You got a refund).
- Most importantly, you have new information to add or correct.
If you filed your return, and a you have documentation that will give you the homestead credit, you should file an amended state tax return.
