Before you call the IRS
- You can call us at 1-800-446-8848
- Ask them for the DCN* shown in EFE (electronic filing engine). This will also verify if you were actually filed.
- You will have to prove your identity as this is private information.
- Call the IRS
- give them the DCN for tracking.
*Document Control Number (DCN)
The IRS is still working on issuing refunds so you could be in the back-up or your return may need to be filed.
