After you file
@conneam wrote:Thank you so much for the information. My taxes haven't been filed and I was able re-enter everything to make sure of accuracy. I've now received confirmation they've been filed with state and federal. I wish the website was a bit easier to use. Was confusing at the end to pay and get confirmation yet not have them filed yet.
You're welcome. I'm glad you hadn't filed and were able to correct everything. I presume that before filing you printed another copy to make sure the Form 1040, Line 1a is now OK. I'm still puzzled why the Form 1040 Line 1a was less than your W-2 income when you printed out originally . Did you find any clue to explain the original discrepancy? Sometimes when weird things happen with a W-2, it can be cleared up by deleting the W-2 and re-entering it. In any case, good luck! Hopefully your returns will be accepted soon. Word on the Federal return will come first. The state return cannot be accepted until the Federal return has been accepted.
