I tried this workaround exactly as you say. Turbotax aborted as soon as I executed your step 7. After I hit the blue button as instructed no actual preview comes up, tiny or otherwise and Turbotax disappears. I appreciate the effort in coming up with this workaround but it did not work for me and from this forum I aww I am not the only one. Turbotax support needs to do 3 things:
1) admit they have a fatal bug
2) Notify the community as to when it will be fixed
3) Actually FIX IT
