I got a W2c, correcting information from a previous W-2 that was filed for 2014 (submitted 2015). Can I refile now to get reimbursed the extra amount I was taxed in '14?
My wages for 2014 included reimbursements that should not have been counted as wagers, and as such as I overpaid for my taxes. Now, in 2016, the issue has finally resolved itself and I am receiving a W2c with corrected information to reflect 2014's true wages. How can I use this W2c to get reimbursed the amount that I was overtaxed? Do I have to refile 2014's taxes? What is the best way to proceed.
