After you file

In a test return, info entered into Federal return, reported on Form 6252, was carried over to California Form 3805E.  The totals on Federal 6252 matched CA Form 3805E.

 

However, CA Form 3805E returns errors for having lines 5, 8, and 9 filled out and says they should not be (only for year of sale).  When going through the Review, these errors came up, but I was able to Continue past them.

 

As long as the correct income for 2024 is reported (Line 24 on both forms), it should not be an Efile problem, but I will report this issue and post again with any new info.

 

If you want to send us a diagnostic file, follow these instructions:

 

TurboTax Online:

 

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. 
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools  
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

 

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

 

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.
