After you file
You do not want to use your paystub to file your tax return. As stated by xmasbaby0, employers have until January 31 to issue W-2s to employees. Entries made from using your paystubs could result in inaccurate information being reported and the need to file an amended tax return.
If you have not received your W-2 after January 31, you should contact your employer to request your W-2. If you have not received your W-2 by the end of February, you can contact the IRS and they will contact your employer. If you still haven't received your W-2, you can use your paystub to fill out form 4852 and attach the form to your tax return.
