After you file
If it added amounts to months that you did not have coverage for then it will affect your tax return. The premium tax credit will be reduced by the amount of months you received the credit. If you have already filed your return, you can amend your return once your return has been accepted and processed by the IRS. If a refund is being received you will want to wait until you receive your refund prior to amending your return.
If you have not filed your return you can still make changes to your 1095-A form. Follow these steps to change the 1095-A entries:
- Login to your TurboTax Account
- Click the down arrow next to Deductions and Credits
- Click the edit icon next to Affordable Care Act 1095-A
- Click Edit next to policy
- Manually update form
