After you file
It may not go to zero depending on what you are amending on your return.
Instead, look at your Form 1040X that TurboTax has created to see if it is correct.
All of the figures in column A are from your original return. These are the numbers you are adjusting (i.e. the numbers originally filed with your tax return),
Column C of your Form 1040X is the corrected number that should be on your tax return.
Column B is the difference between the two, or the "correction" amount.
You should see on line 16 of your Form 1040X, the amount of tax due from your original return or on line 18 you should see the amount of your refund from your original tax return. If you have not received your refund yet, you should wait for it. Don't amend until your original return has been fully processed.
On line 20 of your amended return you should see any additional amount due and on line 22 you will see any additional refund you are due, if any.
