We forgot to include a 1099-DIV on a 2023 return that has already been e-filed. I have seen in another post that an amended return should be filed after any refunds and/or tax payments have been completed from the original returns. Is that a valid statement? And, can the amended returns be e-filed or do they need to be printed and mailed in?
