Bug in Windows Desktop TurboTax Deluxe 2022 Amending My 2022 Return

I was on the IRS website this weekend and happened to look at my 2022 tax transcript data there. Found that a 1099-NEC for $965 was there that I never received and did not recall at tax preparation time that any side work had been done. Because this involved buying some computer hardware and then installing, ie expenses to be deducted from the reported 1099-NEC compensation, I wished to do an amended return rather than wait for the IRS to just send a notice with an amount due on the full reported compensation.

When I started the amend process, instead of starting with the $0 tax due, and a 1040-X in the Forms view showing no differences with previous and current values the same, my previous value was $13xx less than my filed return which then started showing me owing some $2xx taxes due.

After spending an hour on the phone with the first tier of customer support getting nowhere, and when asking for a higher tier or supervisor, I was told that I couldn't be transferred because they weren't helping with amended returns until after April 15th.

In any event, I went ahead and did the change, putting in the 1099-NEC income and creating a Schedule C. When it was all in, and it showing me owing a too large tax due amount, I did find I could go to the forms mode and override the incorrect values in the 1040-X previous return to the correct amounts and then the tax due amounts and 1040-X form would be correct.

Then, when e-file an amended return failed (it said the 2022 e-file timeframe is closed) and I would need to print and mail (58 pages between federal and state) - yuck. Besides needing to get a large envelope and pay postage, I now have to hope the data gets entered correctly - all for a $67 payment to the IRS and $26 to CA FTB.

So, my questions are these:

- Does anyone at TurboTax want to pursue this bug and/or how do I report it?

- Has anyone else had problems where tax due does not start at $0 when starting a 2022 amended return?

- Is there truly no way to efile these amended returns?
