After you file

I was finally able to resolve my  situation. DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL THE IRS. It's a TOTAL waste of time. Besides being on hold for sometimes hours, I would get different answers from different agents I would  get transferred to. I tried calling a Tax Advocate (https://www.irs.gov/taxpayer-advocate), but they either never answered or the call was forwarded to a tax agent that would just give me the run around.  So I submitted ALL MY DOCUMENTATION by MAIL to the Tax Advocate. You can find the correct  address for you  location at the website above.  It took about a month to hear back from them, but once I did it  only  took two weeks to get my  refund deposited.  THAT IS  THE ONLY WAY YOU  WILL EVER  GET  YOUR MONEY...get a Tax Advocate  involved. If they won't take your case hire an attorney if it is worth the money.  The  IRS will NEVER give you your refund otherwise.  Good Luck! I hope this helps.  --Debbie
