TurboTax Online Software Products will allow only 1 Federal and 1 State return per username per year.
You may have up to 5 usernames associated with 1 email address.
You also may use the same password as long as the usernames are unique.
If you want to file multiple returns using 1 TurboTax product, you need to use the Desktop Version which allows you to file 5 Federal returns and 1 Free State.
If you started your 2016 return in TurboTax Online and want to switch to the TurboTax software, here's how.

Save your online return as a tax data file.
- Sign out of TurboTax Online.
- Install your 2016 TurboTax software.
- If you have not purchased TurboTax Desktop software, click here to select the product you need to complete your return.

Important: If your return includes a state, make sure you also install the corresponding state program(s), otherwise you'll get Error 539.
- Once installed, choose File > Open Tax Return in the software program.
- Browse to where you saved your .tax2016 file and click Open.
- If you get an error, delete your tax data file and repeat these steps from the beginning.
- (Optional) Once you've confirmed that your online return opens properly in the software, you can clear your online return.
