My federal refund in 2023 from 2022 was $1,658. On my state taxes it has entered that my federal refund received in 2023 was $2716. This is incorrect and so I have a state tax payment instead of refund. I was charged for my taxes before I filed them and tried to delete my state return and start over but it wouldn't let me. This $2716 is not from any tax form.
I tried to get a refund of my state taxes that was $63, but Intuit wouldn't let me. I wasted an hour on the phone with customer support for them to only tell me that I can only get my money back if the state authority rejects my return.
I'd like my $114 back and am really upset that turbotax inserted the incorrect number on my return and wouldn't let me edit it.
Please help,
I'm in the state of IA and I'm talking about IA 1040 Page 4 line 14.
