I just submitted my return with Turbotax and I think I found an error.
I contributed stock to charity five times in 2023. Right after submitting, I reviewed the PDF of my return again and realized that only four stock contributions are listed on the four lines of form 8283. Last year, Turbotax created additional form 8283s to list all of the contributions but I do not see that this year. I do not see any mention of the fifth contribution anywhere in the PDF.
I am sure I added all five stock contributions in the interview, and the total amount donated on line 12 of schedule A in the PDF is the correct sum of those five contributions (and, of course, more than the sum of the four contributions on the single form 8283 submitted with my return).
This seems like a glaring problem but I'm not sure what to do at this point as I have already submitted. I do believe this appears to be an error by the Turbotax software.
