After you file

There are certain cases where it is appropriate for you to include your dependent's income as part of your return instead of filing a separate return.  In general, if your dependent did not have any earned income (such as wages reported on a W-2) and only needs to report unearned income (such as dividends and interest), then you may be able to include that income as part of your return.
