It depends. If Congress changes the amount of the Child Tax Credit for 2023, or any other tax provisions for 2023, the IRS will have to update its programs, as will TurboTax and other software providers. The IRS may make the changes to filed returns automatically, as @ee-ea stated above, or they may need to be amended.
