- The refund you would have received in 2023 would have been for the 2022 tax return that you filed.
- The question is asked because, if you Itemized Deductions in 2022, you took a deduction for the taxes you had withheld during the year.
- If you received a refund a potion of the deduction may have been overstated, and taxable.
- As Critter-3 said "This is not an issue unless you itemized in 2022."
