After you file
If you have EIC (earned income credit, aka EITC) or ACTC (additional child tax credit), the IRS did not start releasing those refunds until February 15. That means people with those types of credits may not start receiving their refunds until around February 27.
It's the same each year because it is statutory unless the PATH Act is changed at some point. But because of the large amount of fraud in returns claiming those types of refunds, the February delay in those types of refunds is likely here to stay.
