If the IRS hasn't already made the refund check with it. Turbotax does not receive tax refunds despite what an IRS agent might say.
To trace a missing refund, you can:
- Call the IRS Refund Hotline at 800-829-1954 and use the automated system or speak with an IRS employee.
- If you lost your refund check, you should initiate a refund trace by using Where's My Refund, calling the IRS at 800-829-1954 and using the automated system, or speaking with an agent by calling 800-829-1040.
- If you filed a married filing jointly return, you can’t initiate a trace using the automated systems.
