your paper records should reflect your 2021 tax return correctly.
you can
- make a pencil notation on your copy
- use a post-it note to record the change attached to your copy
- change the form 1040 to redo the arithmetic
you can get a blank Form 1040 from the IRS website.
If you are amending for some other reason, you have to continue on.
