Are you claiming a dependent to qualify for HOH? You need to have a dependent for the filing status of HOH.
You do not need to amend your return at this point since it was rejected and is not filed. You can delete the dependent and electronically file your return.
You will not be hearing back from the IRS until you print your return and mail it to claim the person who was claimed by someone else if you decide to follow that path.
