I made a mistake and forgot to delete dependent because we had a change in filing this year. I now claim HOH but we file separate. I forgot to remove my dependent from other and I got rejected because dependent SS was already submitted with other that got filed first. Should I amend other return and delete dependent or just wait to hear from IRS on who is claiming because now I have to mail my returns? Or can I amend return then efile rejected return again? I am so disgusted I made this mistake and comes at a really bad time plus I procrastinated in filing this year.
