Your second recommendation of contact a local IRS office for appointment, got me in touch with an agent within 5 minutes where she looked up my account and told me that all I needed to do was file a return like I should have 1 year ago (no amended, just correct the original return and send it in). Even gave me the Kansas City mailing address where to send it. No Appointment necessary!
