Should I amend my Federal taxes to claim my estimated tax payments that I omitted in my original submission or wait for the IRS to recognize my error and issue a check?

I submitted my Federal IRS and State returns 3/7/23. Within a week, the state of Georgia contacted me and said I failed to include my estimated tax payments and would be issuing me a check for the overpayment. However, the Federal IRS has not acknowledged my error. Should I submit an amended return or wait for them to discover my mistake and issue me a check like the state of Georgia?
