After you file
Yes, add the income. Not receiving a 1099-K, 1099-NEC, or 1099-MISC does not mean you can skip reporting the income. You are still responsible for reporting your income and expenses on your tax return.
Since you did not receive a Form 1099-K, report the income under self-employment income and expenses. Follow these steps:
- Open or continue your return
- Search for schedule c and select the Jump to link in the search results
- Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
- If you've already entered self-employment work and need to enter more, select Add another line of work
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- when you get to the screen “Let’s enter the income for your work”
- select Other self-employed income which is money you made that wasn’t reported on a form
- Enter the description and amount.
