After you file

If you already filed your return and it has been accepted, the option for the Credit Karma card is asked when you go through the section to file your return.

If you have not filed your return yet, see the following on how to your refund on a Credit Karma card.

How to get your tax refund with Credit Karma Money

When asked how you’d like to receive your tax refund, simply select to have it deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account.*

  1. Open an account for free. If you don’t already have one, you can open a new Credit Karma Money™ Spend account through TurboTax when you’re about to file your taxes. Once the process has been completed, you’ll receive your Credit Karma Visa® Debit Card** by mail.
  2. While waiting for your physical debit card to arrive by mail, you can begin using your account by adding your virtual card to your mobile wallet with the Credit Karma app.
  3. As soon as you get your card, activate it using the included instructions.
  4. Once the IRS approves and issues your refund, your refund will be deposited directly into your account.

To avoid delays, be sure the name on the tax return is exactly the same as the name listed with your Credit Karma Money™ Spend account.
