We are in the EXACT same situation! I've used DD for well over a decade. never an issue. this year we did the same and the IRS website says "to be mailed." my state refund will be in my account before federal and that has never occurred. It gets better. I received the paper check today. endorsed it and deposited. like you we are relying on these funds and may miss a mortgage payment or other bill if not sorted soon. I assumed all good. but upon examination my receipt has a cryptic message of a notice of delayed deposit for the entire amount. it goes on to says "check within the deposit may not be paid because of information we've received from the paying bank..." Of course the paying bank is the federal government. All of this is VERY SHADY! WHY DOES THE IRS SEEM TO BE GETTING LESS COMPETENT OR INTENTIONALLY COVERT AFTER HIRING AN ARMY WORTH OF NEW AGENTS?!? anyways sorry about your predicament and your missed trip.
