I called TurboTax and spoke to two different support people over two days. After uninstalling the software and reinstalling, clearing all cookies and cache, the problem still exists. Finally support told me that this is an issue that has been there for years. Sometimes when amending (must be rare or they'd fix it) column A populates the wrong info from the original return, even before the user starts entering amendment data. So, I will need to override everything manually and do it on my own. Thankfully when I do make my changes, column C is appearing correct, so I can manually enter the correct column A numbers and then figure column B from A and C. Hoping for the best!!
