After you file
I believe you, I have seen it before. Start with what VolvoGirl said and determine if your returns were rejected or actually filed.
If they were filed, you will need to contact us and get the DCN, which is the tracking number. Then you can call the IRS at 800-829-1040 and give them the DCN to track your return. Once the federal finds it, then you can move on to the states.
Returns can be transmitted to the IRS but their system is down and the returns vanish.
