If I printed but did not mail my tax return, can I still go back, make changes, and e-file without having to "amend" it? (I want to avoid amending so I can e-file)
I thought I had finished my tax return, but it repeatedly said I could not e-file. (960 915: your transmission didn't go through we could not e-file your return for the following reason: our records indicate that you are not entitled to e-file one or more formsets.)
I thought it was unavoidable, so I decided I would print the returns and mail them. I printed them, and then found out it was because I erroneously included a form 8999 (which seems to require mail-in instead of e-file. Since I have not mailed my printed returns, I want to go back and change my returns to fix this issue, and efile; which would require it to not be an "amended return", as if I was doing the returns the first time, making changes to the first iteration of my taxes, and get another chance to efile them.
