After you file
The IRS will not have a record of your return until your return is accepted. According to your post, you filed your return on January 13, 2023; however, the IRS did not begin accepting returns until January 23rd. Two things to note:
- The pending status is evidence that your return was transmitted successfully.
- Now that it is after January 23rd, the IRS has started processing returns and you will be notified soon as to whether your return is accepted or rejected. The process is not first come, first served, so you may have to hold on a little longer before your return moves to this next step.
