If you are upgrading from Deluxe to Premier, then you would leave the Deluxe software on your computer & upgrade to Premier within the Deluxe software.
How do I upgrade my TurboTax for Windows software?
Upgrading is a one-way street. Once you've upgraded, you can't downgrade back to your original version.
- With your return open in TurboTax, select Upgrade TurboTax at the very bottom of your screen, toward the right (If you don't see the upgrade option here, you can also find it by selecting Helpfrom the top menu)
- In the new window, select the version you'd like to upgrade to and select Upgrade Now
- Follow the onscreen instructions to purchase the upgrade
- When finished, continue working on your return. You don't have to go back to the beginning
