After you file
If you are asking if you need to amend your tax return because you described your income as 1099-K income instead of tax summary income, then you don't need to amend.
You need to amend your taxes if you did not report your 1099-K as self-employment income. Check your tax return to see if your 1099-K income is on Form 1040 Schedule C or C-EZ, and look at line 12 of Form 1040 to see if there is any Business income or loss entered from Schedule C or C-EZ. If not, you will need to amend your tax return.
Note: If you have a self-employed business besides driving for Uber, you may have Business income or loss from another Schedule C on line 12 of Form 1040. If you do, look for the Uber driving Schedule C or C-EZ.
You will report the Uber driving income and expenses on your personal tax return (Form 1040) Schedule C. You will need either the TurboTax Home & Business or Self-employed versions of TurboTax to report the income and expenses related to your Uber 1099-K.
