Thanks for chatting with me on this issue. It seems like Intuit should be able to fix the forms view so that it works like the desktop, for customers willing to pay in advance.
The input issue is this: I am a partner in a partnership. I do not receive W-2 income or Form W-2. I receive a Schedule K-1 which has all of the associated income and deductions listed where required on Schedule K-1. Schedule K-1 is attached to the partnership's tax return (Form 1065) which is reported to the IRS. Like 1099s, the IRS "matches" the Schedule K-1 info to each partner's Form 1040. In Turbo Tax, the "K-1" information is entered in the K-1 (Partnership) input area. Most of the information, when entered, ends up where it belongs on the form 1040. But these items, which can be substantial for some taxpayers like me (health insurance premiums and pre-tax retirement plan contributions) do not end up on the return after we enter the numbers on the K-1 screens. That's strange design. I cannot think of a good reason for the software be developed that way for just a few items of deduction. And even if there is an explanation, there is no direct link/jump to from the K-1 input area to the "other location" where Turbo Tax wants us to input this information. Instead, we have to hunt for it. The search tool did not work (I tried with Live Help and they couldn't figure it out either).
So Turbo Tax (if you are reading), please try to fix this or let users like know that's it is not possible and I will move on.
Thank you very much.
