After you file
ADDENDUM:
You also haven't specifically said what you see with the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool.
While that tool is not always completely accurate, if it's not finding your info, there are some things to check.
- Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status, and are choosing Tax Year 2020.
- If it's a joint return, try the tool using each SSN.
- Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount. Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a summary screen.
- Also be sure you are using the Federal amount before any TurboTax fees are taken out (if you chose that option.)
- Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
Otherwise, you can check the IRS transcripts as I mentioned above, and if needed, speak to the IRS International Taxpayer Assistance office.
