After you file

@vinny.234 -  most probably they have yet to process the amendment.   this is the risk of submitting an amendment prior to the original return processing.   Better part of valor may be to just wait until the amendment is processed and not pay the $1100 - as long as you are confident that you are eligible for the CTC, it will work out without penalty once the amendment is processed..

But it is quite unusual for the CTC not to be correctly submitted from the get-go.  Can we review the detailed of that first to be ABSOLUTELY sure you were eligible for the CTC?  How can you be missing $9000?  The Child Tax Credit was worth no more than $2000 in 2020.

Can you provide some details?

1) how old was your daughter as of 12/31/20? (or, what year was she born?)

2) where you daughter's name is listed on Form 1040, WAY over to the right, there is a little box with the words "child tax credit" above it.  Is it checked?

3) what is on lines 13b and 18b of Form 1040.

40 what was the EXACT amount of the IRS adjustment and what was their explanation for the adjustment?

Also, have you checked the status of the amendment?  they have been running on a 9-12 month delay:
