I wasn't able to e-file due to a zero dollar figure in Box 1 of my deceased wife's W2. I believe this to be incorrectly reported. Regardless, I filed a paper return May 24 and still have no confirmation of receipt (state return is completed long ago, mailed at same time). Checking the IRS site there is no record of the return.
Should I remove that $0 W2 and go ahead and e-file? It shows about $6000 in SS and Medi wages, but no Fed wages or Fed tax withheld (or state). Or should I send another copy of the paper file to make sure they received it?
