My husband (who is here on a green card as of March, 22’) and I filed out taxes together in February this year with H&R Block. Because he didn’t have his green card yet, he had to file for an ITIN number when we filed our taxes (married jointly). But then we had his green card appointment in March, and he received his SSN. At this point, we had still heard no updates about our applications, but it hadn’t been too long yet. We called the IRS and were lucky enough to get an answer right away when trying to schedule an in-person appointment, so we could rescind the W-7 form, but the representative offered to write the letter on our behalf. That phone call was made in April, and we haven’t heard anything, nor is my refund status available on the IRS refund tracking site. My refund currently says “Not Processed” on my login for the IRS. Is this normal? I’m just worried because I keep trying to contact them, but I am not getting any lucky with being in contact with someone.
