Most lenders will accept an IRS transcript of your tax return instead of an actual copy. To get a transcript, go to Get Transcript on the IRS web site. With your permission, the lender should be able to obtain a transcript themselves.
In the future, always save a copies of your tax returns yourself, either on paper or in electronic form. Don't rely on TurboTax or anyone else to save them for you, or to always have them available.
