I e-filed and paid online. The IRS sent a letter stating I still owe- I paid under my account, husband is listed HOH, how do I apply my payment to our taxes.

IRS shows the payment on my account under payment history, but it isn't being applied to anything and they show that I owe for this tax year when I log in -I need them to apply the payment I already made under my account to our household tax debt?
