I requested an extension from the IRS, and sent them 6k as an estimate for my taxes, back in May of 2021 for tax year 2020. I completed my tax return for 2020 in early October, and Turbotax confirmed that they'd seen it. However, every time I checked the IRS site, they said my refund was delayed. Sure, fine, I read articles saying they're behind, no big deal. However, when I got my 2021 refund within a couple days, I was a bit concerned. I went back to the IRS's website, and they now have no record of my filing. I've tried calling countless times, but can NEVER get through to someone-- it legitimately just hangs up on me if the line is too long (which, of course it is). Their website isn't helpful either.
I'm wondering if it's possible for Turbotax to re-file the tax return. I feel like I've done everything I'm supposed to, but I'm getting handcuffed by bureaucracy.
