@Charleslj - that is about a $1500 difference.
Did you receive the advance child tax credit? that was $300 per month from July to December, 2021.
Now look at line 28 of your Form 1040 tax return. That should say $1500 for the remaining half of the child tax credit for one child, but if it says $3000, that means you didn't indicate when prompted within TT that you alrady received $1500.
if that is what occured, then the IRS adjusted your tax return to reflect that you already received $1500 that wasn't reflected on the tax return.
