Yes. I am cognizant of what rescind means and that is what I meant. When my husband received his ssn last year, I made a mistake of not filing a rescind of itin so that they can merge his records. I found out the hard way this year when I tried to file our 2021 taxes electronically and it got rejected. I had 2 choices, either file by paper with the rescind letter, or file electronically with his itin. I chose to file by paper so that we could get the stimulus. That was back on 02/03 and still have not heard back from irs. I know the processing takes 8-12 weeks but it has been more than that so I was just wondering if anybody here had any experience with this and how long it took for irs to respond
