Just had a bill for 2020 taxes
Am I alone in feeling that all of these government handouts over the last couple of years, have made what was always a simple tax return, into a nightmare? I just received a CP22A notice that I owed $91 for my 2020 taxes.
That year was as normal as ever and I received a decent refund. We always pay extra on our paychecks.
Had to file an amended return as company missed a month of pay on W2. I filed an amended return through TurboTax, which showed an additional refund. I got an CP21B, that told me a change to my 2020 return had been made and I was due a refund. The amount I received was slightly higher than on the notice. (Neither matched the amount shown in TurboTax when I filed the amended return). So far in 2022, I have received a letter stating 1040-X and telling me that they have amended my 2020 return and my income was less than reported. It went on to tell me that I would receive a refund that matched what was on the earlier CP21B letter. Ok I thought.
Now today I receive a letter a CP22A, stating that changes to my 2020 ,1040 have been made as requested and that I owe $91.
